The Whole Story

Just in case you wanted all of the juicy details…

To understand how and why I became a photographer, you need to meet two very influential people in my life. My husband, Dave, and my Aunt Karen.

Dave is the most unselfish and patient man I know. He is an engineer, so we couldn’t be more opposite in terms of how our brains work. But we are a great team. We met Sophomore year at UConn in 1996. He was the cute transfer student and I didn’t waste any time making my move (I'm not shy). After college, we married in 2003. While pursuing a career in marketing, I photographed my best friend’s wedding as a gift. That was it. I caught the photography bug.

After showing my Aunt Karen (who owns a photography studio in North Carolina) some of my work, she invited me to come work at her studio. So on a whim, Dave agreed to move from CT to Charlotte, NC so I could pursue photography. My Aunt Karen is the most talented, compassionate, and hard-working person I know. Her work ethic is relentless. Her enthusiasm is contagious. She is my mentor. The industry experience and knowledge I gained in those years at her studio are priceless.

We decided to start a family and be closer to my in-laws, so we moved back to CT. At the time, I assumed I would pursue photography as a hobby. But Dave is the one who encouraged me to pursue photography as a career and start my own business. And the blessings didn’t stop there. In 2010, we purchased an old farmhouse for our home studio in Manchester and in just a few years managed to fill it with three amazing children: Ava, Adalyn and Michael. I am so blessed to do something I love for a living…collaborating with my clients to create captivating images and stories. So, that’s my story. I can’t wait to help tell yours.
